RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Overseeing and providing expertise for all mechanical and electrical activities related to mining and mobile equipment maintenance;
  • Leading and coaching team members in the achievement of maintenance safety and productivity targets;
  • Developing and implementing standards and procedures that meet all statutory/regulatory requirements;
  • Assisting in the preparation of maintenance operating cost forecasts, budgets and monthly maintenance reports;
  • Scheduling and planning electrical and mechanical maintenance to maximize equipment availability and reduce down time.

 

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Mechanical trade qualification in a maintenance or engineering field;
  • Minimum of 10 years experience in a maintenance capacity;
  • Minimum of 5 years supervisory experience;
  • Sound interpersonal and management skills with the ability to lead and motivate a team of employees;
  • Experience with open pit mining equipment, with electric shovels and drills being a strong asset;
  • Computer literacy and numerical skills;
  • Experience in a cross-cultural work environment is considered an asset.

Additional Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor of Engineering, Mechanical Engineering is required
